Marie Curie again. This rose is an absolute treasure: It always looks good, even when it's not blooming because it's one of the very few roses in my garden that's naturally resistant to black spot.

A couple of years ago I went to a Vintage Gardens open house when they were selling some of their excess mother plants. I was delighted to find Night Time there. I already have Night Time, but it's on its last legs and it's not planted in a gopher cage, so I really don't know how long it will last.

Much to my surprise, the plant Vintage Gardens called Night Time is something else. First of all, it's a floribunda and Night Time is a hybrid tea. It resembles Night Time, except it has blue tones, whereas Night Time is just a very, very dark red. If this really was their mother plant, a lot of people got the wrong rose.
