That is beautiful Patty.
I love my Creeping Jenny and Kenilworth Ivy. But I keep them in pots. Creeping thyme is great for a ground cover. Easy to grow, nice tight surface that seems to keep weeds out. Easy to remove from areas you don't want it. You can also cut the sections off and transplant to another area, like a sheet. You have to keep it moist until it gets rooted. This is in a 24" pot and grows all the way down the side of the pot and onto the ground.

Lynn is that ???
Creeping Jenny (Lysimachia congestiflora)
Creeping Jenny (Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea')

Are you referring to the bed it is sitting on or the plants in the pot? I'm all ears!

Lynn, I love how it runs over the pot like that. How tall does it get? I am looking for something with just a little height to it. I love the Cape Blanco!! I also have seen 2 other sedum 'spurium' i like,John Creech and Tri-color. Thumbs up

Lynn is that wooly thyme? The creeping thymes are good... I have one that's a beautiful burgundy color but I don't know what variety it is. Jojoe ~ if you have any nice nurseries nearby they often display the plants together that grow well together. But they can also be a dangerous place to go! 🙀

I've only planted the golden creeping Jenny, so maybe its less invasive? But its good to know that its "crazy" like that!! Hilarious!
Lithidora gets tall Jojoe, and can get large bushy, but is easy to pull up!!
Lynn I love the planting! What a great way to show off the plants and the swan! Thumbs up

The golden is less tenacious, that's true but it still drove me mad. Now I think my purple goose leaf is taking it's place! 🙈

They sure beat dandelions, crab/quack grass or english ivy as a weed though! I let my forget me nots go wild, and they reseed all over my back yard, but as a weed they're pretty! nodding (they're easy to pull out too though!) I tip my hat to you.

That is Wooly Thyme that the swan is sitting on, and one of the Sedum spurium, just don't remember which one.

I have a small hill or i guess i could call it a 'terrace'.It runs up above my rock garden and i've been looking for something that will grow along it that i can either train or keep pruned on the 'terrace'.I only have one picture with the 'terrace' in the background. It starts high on the end where my rock garden is & levels out, this picture is the end where it's leveling out,so look behind my plants, the ground goes up & then where the pump house sits its flat.To show you better i will try to get a picture of the other end above my succulent bed,i think the rain is gone for today anyway.I forgot to insert the picture here so it's at the bottom. Whistling

I have also (for the first time) seen Orostachys & Rosularia!! I am in love with them.I don't remember & to lazy to read this whole post,if i mentioned here about the book i bought called Tough plants for every climate HARDY SUCCULENTS !! This book has a lot of semps, jovi's,sedum's etc and i also seen a plant i just love Orostachys furusei. It's not in the data base but there are some that look a lot like it.

What's a good nursery to buy these plants? I haven't really seen any. These plants are related or similar to semp's & Jovi's correct?? Confused

Has anyone seen or have a semp called Sugaree??
Nice day, Jo

Unfortunately Drought Smart Plants is in Canada and she doesn't ship to the US. Sad She has some beautiful plants though.

Arrowhead Alpines http://www.arrowheadalpines.co... carries quite a few different Orostachys. Only one Rosularia though.

Jelinda it could be this semp that went through mislabeling? Sempervivum 'Sugary' ... ED SKROCKI (US), 1981

There is a lot of confusion with name of Orostachy's. The correct scientific name can go by several or more synonym names.
Look at all the synonyms for this one. Japanese Dunce's Cap (Orostachys boehmeri)

Jacki has some great information on her website. She also offers some amazing plants.

I have purchased from Arrowhead Alpines and Mesa Gardens and have been very happy with their plants.
Mesa Garden's website is not very user friendly, but they offer some very difficult plants to find. http://www.mesagarden.com/succ...

Arrowhead Alpines has a really nice selection of Orostachys, but just one variety of Rosularia.
http://www.arrowheadalpines.co...

Mountain Crest Gardens has some nice Rosularia http://mountaincrestgardens.co...
