Doing your own research is always a good thing dreamplando. I think there is a lot of 'variegated monstera cutting fatigue' nowadays. Many people just don;t respond to questions anymore because, at some point, they have all been answered, and, as with any rooting endeavor, people have their own ways that they do things, which may work very well for them, but may not work at all for other people. Its kind of best to look at all the different ways and options, and choose what YOU think will be best for YOU in your conditions, with your plant culture habits, and go from there.
I, for example, would never do what you have done, using perlite. Nor would I use Aliflor (LECA) in this manner. I ALWAYS use moss, or, if I think its a better idea, just PLANT in substrate.
And like you say, people have different culture items available to them depending on where they live, so, they may not even be able to effectively follow someone else's methods
