After starting out yellow and orange, Centennial Star pinks up before it starts declining.

Silly man, how could I take June photos before June began? I'm left with this huge backlog of May bloom photos because of the end of my fiscal year and the weirdness with Internet Brands.

I can actually see the possibility of a couple of days off after June 3rd. Leisure time? What a concept.... I will not use a minute of it to clean the house, of course.

Toni, Expressions has budded and is almost ready to bloom. I can't wait. Thanks again.

My housekeepers engage me in conversation and end up costing me more than they're worth. The only way it makes sense to hire one is if I'm doing my work at the same time to cover the cost. Otherwise, I'm paying for their time and for mine. I have to find some less chatty housekeepers.

Besides, I find that they only do a good job the first time they're here, because they view it as an audition. Once they have the weekly gig, they slack off. One of them a few years ago actually swept carefully around a dead gopher on the kitchen floor, collected her money for the week, and left me with the job of disposing of the corpse. I guess the trick is to hire a new housekeeper each time.

OMG OMG OMG, You have GOT to post pictures of Expressions!! Mine's got leaves, but that's about it.

And dead gopher in the kitchen. YUCK! What did she think it was, dinner on the floor? WTH!!! That's why my house is a disaster.. I won't hire a cleaning person.

Oh, really...gosh, I haven't had that problem at all. I'm only on my 2nd housekeeper in 19 years. No problem with chat, because I'm always at work when they clean my home. But it's always nice and spotless, and if I see something they miss, I generally only have to comment on it once, and it never happens again. I guess I should consider myself extremely fortunate!! I don't like being home when the housekeeper cleans. I always feel like I'm in the way.

As soon as the light permits, Toni, I'll take a picture of the bud that's opening. The rose is planted in a very sunny spot, so daytime photos wouldn't turn out well at all.
