I have this 3 in 1 neem oil spray I got and spray on my tomato plants. They claim to be organic. The stuff smells absolutely horrid but if it works, it works. I had to throw in the towel on this one, I have aphids and slight rust developing on my tomato plants. This stuff claims to control both the rust and the aphids. Does anybody know if this spray is safe and or effective? Today was their first spray. Sadly since I don't have time before I go on vacation I couldn't take the long route to fix up the tomatoes. If anybody also has tips for getting rid of aphids in a short time span, please share.

Neem oil is completely useless against rust and nearly so against aphids.
You can blast away the aphids with a water jet (or smother them with agricultural oil), but rust requires an old fashioned copper-based fungcide, which has the added bonus of keeping blights in check as well. Just be quick to apply it because if you let rust spread there's very little that can be done about it.

PS: mineral oil plus a copper fungicide are most likely far cheaper than neem oil, have no expiration date if properly stored and are something every gardener should have at hand.

I do have copper fungicide I'm just low on it. The 3 in 1 says on the bottle that it fights against it. It acts as a mite, pest, and fungicide. I'm guessing they just mixed some of their copper formulae in the solution. For the aphids, I have tried the water jet but they keep coming back, and it's a long process trying to avoid damaging the tomato flowers with the water. I'm just unsure what to do. The rust is still very young as well, only a few leaves are infected thankfully.
