Then God said, "Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of every kind on earth that bear fruit with the seed in it." And it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed of every kind, and trees of every kind bearing fruit with the seed in it. And God saw that it was good. (Book of Genesis : Chapter 1, Verse 11 -12.

That isn't Justicia gendarussa or any type of Justicia in your photo.
You have the wrong identity.
Don't eat it!

Yes as danita mention before, that plant in your photo is not a Justicia.
The flowers seeems like typical asteraceae / compositae, I suspect Eclipta prostrata

I submitted the photo to Plant Identifier and it said Justicia Gendarussa. Are you sure that the plant is not Justicia Gendarussa? If not, then what is it? Sad

Note the flowers on your plant... that is not a Justicia, not even a member of Achanthaceae family... and quite sure that is Astreceae

Your photo of Astreceae is exactly like my plant and its Asteraceae: Eclipta prostrata.
