That was a hilarious video put together by Hans Herrington and his mother , Heather Herrington, helped . They did it last year during the Pandemic. It humorously , very tongue in cheek, described all the things serious exhibitors and show judges regard as big no no's. At one point, Hans beats a scape on the driveway and then jumps on it! And at the end, they make the disclaimer not to do any of these things! It won the Lazarus video award for this humorous look at daylily shows.
You really should watch the video : https://youtu.be/2MCavTJYAq4
I'm a bit prejudiced as I've met Hans and have watched his videos pretty much since he began making them, but the one he did of his club show in Dublin, GA, this past May is the best one yet. Here is the link.
Anyone who's ever seen, exhibited in, or judged a daylily show, will appreciate it. Perhaps anyone who's never seen a daylily show will like it too. My own club doesn't do formal shows, so I have to travel great distances to judge shows, but they're addictive. Last weekend, I traveled up to Northern DE. ( Winterthur DE) to judge a show, about 7 hrs each way. It was worth it to be able to work with other judges and to visit with friends in that club. I didn't realize how much I missed judging when all the shows were cancelled in 2020.
