How long should it take for a seller to mark the auction as Paid ? I have a couple that I paid and they said they were paid But,they still have not marked my LA invoice as paid ![]() The horse is God's gift to mankind. ~Arabian Proverb |

I always mark my own as paid, that way I dont pay twice with a cc. Sometimes I pay right away, sometime I dont, espeically if Im watching more of the same sellers auctions. Without the paid button, Im lost. I rarely order if you have to send a check, to much hassle. |

Shannon, I have just been looking at our Closed Auctions to check some information and get ours paid up that we won this past weekend. As I reviewed our four pages of wins that go back until late summer/early fall, I noticed that some had not been marked PAID by the seller that were shipped last fall/late summer. So, some sellers do not mark their auctions as PAID, but most sellers had. I do what gardenglory does---mark our wins PAID on our Closed Auction page. I also keep a written list by my computer and make a notation on that list when I pay and how paid (check or PayPal). If I don't pay ours ASAP, I will forget! ![]() "Anything worth doing is worth overdoing"~~~David Bishop http://daylilyfans.com/bishop/ |

I usually hit the "Paid" button when I leave my feedback, as they've had plenty of time to do it and I think sometimes forget. But I do wait until after I've received the plant or seeds to do so in order to give them plenty of time. And we both know I've paid for it if I've already received the product. Betty |

Just reading this made me wonder if seller "abundantdaylilies ever left me feedback. I checked my emails from him and sent this email to him... ---- Mark, I went through my emails from you and found that you received payment for all 3 auctions in the two checks I sent. On Nov. 1, 2012 at 8:11 pm you sent this: >>>hi auction user Scout Thank you for payment on your auction win or wins<<< On Nov. 17, 2012 at 4:18 pm you sent this: >>>Thank you for 2 payments today on your auction win or wins<<< I am paid in full. Marilyn ---- If he had left the feedback when he rec. payment, none of this would have happened and I wouldn't be upset with 'knots in my stomach' over this! I still don't know if I'm going to able get to sleep because of this! I don't know how long those 'pay now' boxes have been there next to my auctions. I haven't been bidding for weeks and/or months and haven't been looking at my LA page since I knew I was paid up. |

As a seller and buyer on the auction, things do happen from time to time that leaves a stinky taste in my mouth but have never lost any sleep over it. I am sure Mark will make things right as he has always been great to deal with and sends great daylilies. Kathleen handles all this sort of stuff on the auction and I assume she keeps pretty much up to date, if not just let her know and she will make sure things are right. |

Marilyn, I am sorry you are having a bad time with Mark. I have purchased from him and had a good experience. I am sure he will make it right. Bee Kind, make the world a better place. |

I have bought quite a few from him and Mike44 and they do not mark you paid till they ship. When I first started out I had no feedback at all and asked him to mark a few and he did (mike44). He has a full time job and is very busy so I do not email him. I am glad you said something to Abundantdalilies because he has a website and looks to be a full time seller so maybe he has a reason, but I don't know. I mark my own paid as soon as I pay them, so I will know who has been paid and helps keep me straight. Use the toggle switch and just ignore it, I think it does confuse the new people. ![]() Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. As I stated earlier in this thread, I don't buy and sell much on the LA, but I do look at it a lot.... and I've never even seen the boxes your talking about. I just looked up one of my friends on there that buys and sells a lot and don't see any boxes like your describing. Are you sure that everyone can see them, or just the buyer and seller? I've always heard that Mike Longo is great working out issues on the LA - and I think that would be the best place to get this resolved, if you don't hear back from the seller right away. |

As a seller ( and also a buyer) on the LA, I notice that some of the big sellers only update this "paid" info. and mark feedback weeks later . I'll admit, that when the invoice feature first came out, it took me a while to learn how to use it and how to mark the items "paid" and prepare invoices. But now, although I still keep duplicate records on my computer of all sales, I really like the feature of the invoice as computes the math automatically and eliminates mistakes ( hooray!!) and try to send feedback and mark paid when payments come in so I won't get off track. However, I'm just a small seller who sells seasonally. I do get the frustration from buyers who don't get marked "paid" and who don't get immediate feedback. It has happened to me too, and I don't like it. As a seller, it is frustrating when you try to give fairly quick feedback and then there's a two month delay when you ship. Some of your buyers will post feedback to let you know they got the shipment safely and that they were OK with what they got. ( although like most, I use Delivery confirmation) But some buyers never bother to give feedback either, and although I try to ship plants that I would like to get, I'm left wondering if I did something wrong or if there was something the buyer didn't like since they didn't communicate with me! |
gardenglory Feb 20, 2013 8:54 AM CST |
I guess since I only buy on the LA., I could care less if the seller leaves feedback. I can see where a seller would like it. What I do like, is when the seller marks the shipped button. That way I know to look for them. I do buy from abundantdaylilies, great plants so far. |
Ladylovingdove Feb 20, 2013 9:12 AM CST |
I don't know why the seller is to mark it as paid. I toggle the button myself to mark it as paid. I always get good stuff from him and maybe he never marks them as paid. Once he sends me an email to ask me when I want shipment, I know he is going to send them. I thought it was MY job to toggle the button as paid, since it is on "my" page when I pull it up. I think you are upset for no reason. You could always ask Mike Longo what the protocol is for the paid button. Dot |
gardenglory Feb 20, 2013 9:25 AM CST |
Thank goodness Im not alone. As stated above, thought the paid button was for the buyer, and I mark my own. Its worked beautifully too, I didnt miss one payment last year. With seeds and continuing auctions, its easy to miss one. Also the seed seller say they would like to be paid once every two weeks or so, this lets you know which ones you sent in the last payment. |
virginiarose Feb 20, 2013 9:41 AM CST |
Great news Pam, I have heard nothing but good things about abundantdaylilies and I can't wait to see my plants. I would like to explain a little more about the toggle switch. If you go to my lilies page, then click on your 'closed items', then click 'my won' and you will see under 'Buy/List' a green box or a pink box. The pink box means you have not paid yet,it says 'Pay Now', so when you pay you just click on the pink box and you will see a header for Toggle Paid/Unpaid so when you click the toggle box which is pink, it will turn to green and say 'Paid' inside a green box with black letters. Then when the seller marks you paid, like when they get your payment, the box will disappear and the letters turn green. Below is a picture of my monitor showing the unpaid, the paid in solid green which is by me, and the paid with out the solid green box was marked by the seller. Hope this helps. Once the seller marks you paid you cannot toggle. ![]() ![]() ![]() Floota, I always give feedback, I think it is important to communicate before and after the sale. I am dealing with sellers right now who remember me from eBay and they are happy to do business with a good repeat customer. One way to make sure that they remember me is to pay quickly and give good feedback. ![]() Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Correct ,Dot, everyone has their own page which track their own accounts, whether you are buying, selling, or both. No one can mark "paid" on anyone else's accounts. It is strictly for you to keep track of the personal items you are buying and selling. Very handy when you might sell 30 or 40 items ( or more) at the time. When you have high volume, it can get tricky to keep up with it all. This is a great feature that makes it much easier to handle the LA. These features were not available for many years when using the auction. They are a great help. Mike is the greatest! It was such a privilege to finally meet him a few years ago When selling, the automatic toggle buttons make it easy to keep up with who has and has not paid, and to keep up with when feedback is given and items are shipped. It is really handy for the seller - when you ship, you can send an "automatically generated" email giving the buyer the tracking # for the package and telling them which day the package was sent. It saves the time of having to look up an email address, etc. These are such great aids for sellers. |

AHHHHHHHH I see the two different green paid, now. Well, I never noticed that, once I hit paid, thats the end of me even thinking about it, or paying attention to that. After that, I look for the shipped button, or pos feedback listed. to me, either of those means my plants on the way and thats the ticket for me. Altho I dont care about feeedback, I do try my best to give it for the seller. Upon revisiting my auctions for this conversation, it looks like I fell off the wagon a bit on that at the end of the year. Ill go back and do that now, even tho they are old auctions. |

Marilyn, my guess is that you "woke him up" a bit with those messages and hopefully he'll do better with his follow-up in the future, but I see this as a paperwork detail that he's simply not very good at and it's something that can so easily be corrected by you, so not to worry. I click on the "Paid" button all the time when I get a "you've got feedback" email notification from a seller and realize another seller hasn't marked one or more of mine as "Paid." If you haven't purchased from him before I believe you will be very pleasantly surprised when you get your daylilies, and to me that's what counts. Betty |
