I am interested in several of the Spacecoast daylilies, but I don't want to bring southern grown daylilies into our gardens, unless these are rust resistant as Gossard claims they are. I would like to hear from anyone in the south who grows these daylilies and can say they are as advertised. Beginning in 2017and into this year, on the Heavenly Gardens website, the SC daylilies are the ones that are supposed to be rust, leaf streak and insect resistant.

I grow just a few that fit into that category of Spacecoast Daylilies, but since I spray all my daylilies now for Rust, Leaf streak and insects I am not much help. With all the rain we have had this year I must say so far I have been pleased with the result of the spray program, not perfect but great improvement.

I have SC The Green Mile (2017) in TX new this year. Should be close to your climate. I don't recall any rust issues [nothing showing on fotos from early June] but then I didn't get it from Florida.

They do much better than any other daylilies I have. I grow them because they dont get rust like the others. I dont really keep records and Im sure one has had to have gotten rust, but overall its why I buy them. Get good increase too. I would like some of the heavnely daylilies but I loose every one.

Are all the Spacecoast daylilies supposed to be rust resistant? Even the older ones?

I have checked a few northern growers and I could probably get Spacecoast Irish Illumination with no rust. That is the only one I have found I would be interested in buying. But, it's from 2008 and as I said before, the notations for rust resistance for the SC daylilies begin with the 2017 daylilies. Pam, I wish you would post your Spacecoast daylilies that don't show rust. But, when all is said and done, the claim is rust resistance, not rust free, so no guarantees that rust couldn't show up. There are a number of the 2017 group I like very much, including SC The Green Mile.

I see that Spacecoast Tiny Perfection (1998) has a rust resistance score of 1.0 in the database...for what that is worth.

I was out spraying this morning, and noticed my Spacecoast Tiny Perfections had more rust than I was expecting.

Oh well. I know the 1.0 score isn't a guarantee. I've already discovered that, unfortunately.

Just following up on this thread to see if anyone has any more personal experiences to add concerning rust on Spacecoast daylilies as I am on a quest to make my daylily garden as rust-free as I can without spraying.
