We came from here -
The thread "Our Orchid blooms in July 2021" in Orchids forum

It is August 1. and around here in the North East our Summer is going by way too fast for me! What can I say, I am one of those people who actually loves the heat. Smiling
The Orchids in the cage are adding new growth, we are doing ok. We even have some Summer bloomers.
Let me start with my Rlc Cynthia, now blooming from a different lead. This time the plant managed two blooms!
Just open

I agree It reminds me of Easter...all soft and pastel. Vanda Charm is gorgeous as well.
I don't want to jinx myself..but the nocturnal rodent seems to have moved on, and I'm now getting some buds and blooms.
Here's a new division of Yellow Bird, blooming for the first time.

gorgeous Gigi! I know Vanda are heavy feeders and the time release sachets seem to do the trick ( especially if you are like me and don't fertilize every week Whistling ). Are your plants from Motes or did you get them in Apopka?

They are all from Motes. Most are attached to variegated corn plants. They love it! My Mom has the same set up, so I am becoming my Mom. Hilarious!

My Bulbo frostii is at it again, right on schedule! Dutch Slippers!
Pictures include a potential pollinator, I wonder if it was the wrong size to effect pollination and got stuck in the process.

When you tap on the image and enlarge it, you see just how beautiful that this flower is! What color! What texture! And look at how the lateral sepals roll over and twist to form the "front part of the shoe". Amazing. Thumbs up

Fabulous pictures, Ursula. Didn't know the slippers were textured like that.

Did you rescue that little wasp? A drama in the orchid cage.

We have drama here this morning, too. Rain at last! A really nice downpour earlier, but still raining lightly out there. It's been brutally hot and sunny for 4 days now so this is a great boon.

Cute fuzzy bedroom slippers you have there Ursula.
We've had 2 days of off again on again monsoon rains which has helped me get all my plants sprayed with neem. I go plant by plant and take my time looking for problems or buds ( found both Blinking )

Huh, and here I figured that E. was for Encyclia since the flowers look a lot like my Encyclia alata. Is it fragrant?

Yes, a wonderful, cool rainy day we're having down here too, but not much in the way of monsoon rains. It did rain fairly hard early this morning but has just been off and on light rain the rest of the day. We're expecting the heavy stuff later, I think.

Love the Susan Fender. It's another one I keep buying because it's such a great flower, and I keep killing it. Not sure if I have a living plant of that atm, since I found the tag lying on the floor a couple of months ago, when the screen cage was in need of repair. Big fat old raccoon fell through the top middle panel.

Feeling forgiven today, as my wonderful Lc. Renate is finally blooming again. This division has two spikes and the other big piece has 3 nice healthy ones as well. The small piece I mounted on cork is way behind these other two. Lesson learned.

Symphony in purple, Den. bigibbum var compactum coming along with lots of spikes, and the two NOID Dens from Apopka deep dusky purple, and beautiful rich burgundy. I had them hanging over the patio table while my family were visiting and they were much admired.

There was one of those Encyclias which smelled like Chocolate..... thought that one might have been the one?

Elaine, the unhappy pollinator to be was more than just resting! And I am happy we get to see more of Renate again, such nice blooms!

Susan Fender is simply gorgeous!!

That would be Encyclia cordigera which most sniffers say it reminds them of chocolate and roses.
