I started 20 of my neighbor's adenium seeds in a communal pot (mixture of sand and perlite) and 18 in individual jiffy seed starting pellets. Hopefully they germinate! Crossing Fingers! He only wants 2 but I will give him 5 and another neighbor 5. Whistling Then I have a few more seedlings for experiments.

Since Adenium seedlings do not have much roots, it will not be difficult to sow them in communal pot and separate them at a later stage
If they look healthy, do nothing

The variegated ones also start to germinate, it can be clearly identified that the variegated ones are white in color and the normal ones are green.
Thumb of 2021-08-24/Kaktus/e5e1ad
Btw, those germinated seeds are all from new fresh seeds that only take 3 to 4 days to sprout, nothing happened on the aged seeds, will get rid of the aged seeds tomorrow.

LESSON LEARNT 1 : Fresh seeds are key for successful germinations, will sprout in 3 to 4 days.

yeah, I have seen people make the adeniums like lamp cover, I think people in Thailand or Vietnam did that, but I don't like that design, btw the picture that you post is not adeniums, those are fortune bamboo

Kaktus said:Found the following picture in the internet, would like to see whether we can create similar adenium by planting a lot of seeds in one pot and expect their roots / caudex to join into 1 trunk. This will be a good learning process.

There will be no rules, you are free to use 1 adenium to 100 adeniums, grow from seed or use existing seedlings.
Everyone are welcome to participate in this challenge.

The winner will get 5 acrons Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

It will be good if we can perform monthly updates with photos to show the progress. But feel free to make a daily update

Here is my entry: 1 month old seedlings, pink blooms

This is the update of mine... All the variegated seedlings were dead, only 1 left, but I believe will also die in a couple od days.

These are the 4 challengers, will ID them as M1, P1, P2 and RT1, possibly there will be P3, 4 etc. At a later stage.
Those ID will be useful if later we decided to give different treatment to them as an experiments.

Yes, I prefer keeping 5 to 6 pots of interesting Adeniums than 200 pots of normal adeniums.. Almost all of the single petaled Adeniums will be for the Adenium challenge project, I still have around 3 to 4 pots of group seedlings that I just sowed, may keep some for root trainings and others will be for the experiment. Even from now on, the stem cuttings that going to the graveyard will be only the double petaled ones.

If I can get some double petalled seedpod, then I will grow them from seeds to see the result

Update
P2 dead by over watering
Today I repot P1 into a larger bowl, I need the plants to access to richer soil, the sowing media mainly consist of sand without any organic material, and the sowing media holds too much water.
I remove the bottom half of the plastic bottle including the bottom half of the media, then let the bottle sit on a cactus mix inside the bowl.

@Kaktus, how old are these seedlings? My 2 month old sand/perlite germinated desert roses are still like 1 month old seedlings! Confused The jiffy pellets grown are fatter than the seedlings in your picture (re: P1).

They stopped growing! Despite some
Agro-thrive already.
