Looks like Shagbark Hickory to me. We have a couple of them around our cabin south of here, along with another variety of hickory tree. Our yard there is covered in nuts in the Fall. Oh, that drop is just about to begin next month. You reminded me of that unpleasanat task ahead. I haven't tasted one yet, but hear they are sweet, although difficult to shell out. So far only our elusive armadillo on the property gnaws on them (or the occasional red fox visitor).
