I've found a few of these bugs on my tulsi basil plant for the past few days. There doesn't appear to be anything else wrong with the plant other than some yellow spotting on the leaves. Could anyone identify what these bugs are and how to get rid of them safely if they are harmful? I use the leaves in cooking, so any method would need to leave the leaves safe to consume afterwards. Thank you!
I am having trouble uploading the photo, I click "Upload an Image" and it just adds text that says lightbox to the post. Is there a specific format the photo needs to be in?

Try again, they have to be jpg images, click upload an image, find it on your device, once uploaded you will see that lightbox text, (do not edit any of it), then click the preview to see the image, then click Finished.
They are your friends! No idea about whether they are edible. Some lacewing larva have the entertaining habit of attaching the exoskeletons of their eaten prey to their backs and become little walking trash piles. I'll bet you can find some eggs nearby if you look carefully.
