Welcome!

Its a cyclamen.

@DaisyI This is a cyclamen. Cymbidiums do not look like this. Most likely it is a florist's cyclamen.

Is this plant okay to keep indoors and how often do I water them?

Cyclamen like moderate moisture and can be grown indoors. If it appears to be losing leaves and you have not overwatered it or done anything wrong, it may be just going into a dormant state, after which it will come back and rebloom. Enjoy your plant!

Oops! Senior moment. I looked at Garden.org real fast while in the middle of two Orchid Society email conversations (one was about Cymbidiums). Now fixed.

I know Gardener2493 was excited because he finally found my foible but I'm just human, not a robot.

BTW, Your CYCLAMEN is a beautiful plant, nothing wrong with the care I can see and its not going dormant. The natural flowering period is fall through spring. Yours is probably gearing up to bloom now. Mine just started. If your temperatures don't drop below freezing, you can grow your cyclamen outdoors year round, just keep the soil damp.

Ah thank you so much!! I'm new to gardening and enjoy having indoor plants so I was hoping to learn more on how to care for them especially since my rooms are quite cold was hoping this won't have a negative impact on them Smiling

I am not here to compete with anyone. I am just here to be helpful, that's all. Not for personal ego or envy, or vanity or anything like that. I know it can be difficult to believe but I am not here to outcompete the others. Why, I would have been banned if MY sole purpose here was to belittle others! I accept corrections from others as well, so it's not like I am here for the sole purpose of ego.

Actually, it prefers cold temps, so it should be happy in your house. It goes dormant on the spring when days get warmer and longer. Thumbs up

C'mon, Gardener person, 'fess up, you're just a wee bit tickled to catch DAISY, of all people, in a senior moment slip-up. Hilarious!

Edit to add, Oops, cross-posted with Cinda. Actually, I thought it was all in good fun, but point taken.

@NMoasis No. You really think I am here just for the sake of my own ego? I would have been blocked. Anyway as @gardengus said, "no bickering", we can treemail each other if wanted.
