A friend of mine - living in Germany - told me that in a neighbour's garden there is heavy rebloom on a couple of near white daylilies right now. He asked the owner for the name of the planted daylilies - and got the answer: there are several plants of White Temptation and Dad's Best White but the owner had no idea which of these is the reblooming one.

I've never seen any rebloom on these cultivars in my garden up to now and I'm living in a much warmer climate. Thinking
What's your experience?

Sue I have White Temptation. It has never bloomed this late. Only seen one or two rebloom scapes in all the years that it has been here.

I have never seen rebloom on 'White Temptation' and I have grown it for more than 25 years and in two different climate zones. Nor has it ever bloomed this late.

However, it has produced first generation seedlings that were registered as reblooming. Also, any daylily is able to rebloom if it is grown in the appropriate location and with appropriate growing conditions.

I have quite the same experience with this cultivar.

In Germany you will usually not find the appropriate locations and growing conditions for heavy rebloom on any cultivar - even northern rebloomers do not always flower more than one time at peak bloom.

I've never grown Dad's Best White in my garden - maybe this one is able to flower twice in warmer years?

Brian Reeder has a description of 'Dad's Best White' in his Sundragon blog and says that it "occasionally reblooms" in his garden. He is in Kentucky about 160 km south of Lexington. He said the USDA zone is "6 or 7" depending on the severity of each winter.

Using my middle name Ann wasn’t working well. Back to being one Pat among many others. 😄

I had Dad's Best White- can't recall it reblooming, but I can attest to it doing really well in my zone 5b, unprotected garden.

I grew Dad's Best White for years and really liked it but don't think it ever rebloomed. Our zone was 6b during the years I was growing it.
