Name: April Blevins North Eastern Kentucky (Zone 6b)
Proven Winners Orange Smoothie has been the standout in my garden this year. I can't even count the number of reblooms this has given me in my Kentucky 6B garden. It's October and I have a daylily in bloom, and that's pretty rare for me. Anyway - had to share my excitement and a photo.
Awesome! Yes, my Daylilies did not make it to October last year either. I think our rainy Spring and Summer gave them the needed boost to rebloom. Also I fed them this year…
Flower from yesterday and the day before on Avalon Cornish Pixie - rebloom
At the moment there are still some scapes in my seedlings garden but I assume that most of the buds won't open anymore because there is a cold front arriving tomorrow night and temperatures will fall below 10°C (50°F) at night and below 15°C (59°F) at noon. Tomorrow is the last late summer day in our region - fall is finally arriving and harvesting seed pods is the issue at the moment.
After a week of sunny pleasant weather, we are now into a week of rain. I was surprised yesterday afternoon when the sun broke through and I found daylilies blooming!
