All of these have been moved to the Plant ID forum where it states " Attention: start a new thread for each plant that you need identified!"

To me, it's much less confusing to discuss 1 plant per discussion. Is this a vine? Does it have thorns?

On the Plant ID forum is the option to mark the thread as solved so as each plant is IDed, it can be marked as such. It would be so much more confusing to have many different plants within a thread and try to ask additional questions or photos for each one. Thumbs up

Sweet... then no worries! I am quite out of my element here in florida, being from ohio. Plus, the woman who used to live here let everything grow up and planted odd things in odd places... definitely will be interestin!

Argh... purple, you are right. the Russian vine.... I thought maybe it was something useful with all the blooms.... no so much. Fortunately it is not where it can do much damage. And, I have a husband who weedeats any plants as soon as they touch a fence or building. He has his work cut out on our new move to Florida. He was a farmer his whole life, there's a place to grow and a place for buildings. Everything in its rightful place. Lol

Mikania micrantha is only found in the very southerneastern part of the state, Miami Dade county. I believe the plant in your photo is either Climbing Hempvine (Mikania scandens) or Florida Keys Hempvine (Mikania cordifolia)

Mikania scandens is growing and blooming here in my area now (Indian River County, Sebastian, Fl) east central part of the state.

You're right! I thought it certainly was the mile a minute with the leaves.... they must be closely related... is the helpline as invasive, or can I just enjoy it? The two are so similar, is there a specific way to tell them apart? As for florida, it really is a whole different world down here... I can understand why everyone is so happy here! And, the days don't seem to by as fast as up north...

They all look very similar and it may be difficult to tell the differences without seeing them side by side in person. Shrug!

Mikania micrantha (Mile-A-Minute) is a non-native invasive species and it's apparently only present in the state in southeast Florida, Miami-Dade county. Besides the photos in our database, more photos for comparison can be viewed on this page:

Multiple plants per post can get incredibly bogged down...constant counting to answer, confusion when there is a discussion/disagreement on id.

One plant...one thread works brilliantly.
We can ask for extra pics/more info if needed.
It can be marked solved when it it is all sorted.
I love this system that this forum has.

Based on Google Lens , it is probably a climbing hempvine as noted by others
