Who likes melons? I read that melons can grow well indoors and I have some space by my sunny window in my kitchen. I've bought a Honeydew Melon and I'm going to plant some of the seeds from the melon to see if they grow. I may also try Water Melon. I understand that its probably the wrong time of year to be planting seeds but better now than never while I've still got a bit of space.
At my house, melons produce very long vines requiring far more light than I could possibly provide indoors.
Unless you have a conservatory, or a pot grow room, I really can not imagine a scenario where melons would produce fruit inside.
Melons and cantaloupes require heavy sun, all day summer type sun or they do no good. My vines reached 12' and were growing everywhere, but even outside in partial shade there simply wasn't enough sun. Sweet potato vines are better indoors and prettier.
So many roads to take, choices to make, and laughs to share!
