That just makes me want to discuss bonsai in this thread. Rolling on the floor laughing Actually I wondered why you started a second to talk about the same thing you were talking about in the first.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming...."WOW What a Ride!!" -Mark Frost

I just think it's cool that someone else is doing something really unusual. Usually I'm the one doing the weirdest stuff to plants. It's often the only way to satisfy curiosity. Even if nobody else understands or appreciates it, if you're enjoying it, it's worth doing.

K. blossfeldiana seems like a more likely bonsai candidate, but I've rarely seen these trunks stay alive more than a few yrs. In retrospect, there may have been candidates that could still be alive because I've discarded many old woody trunks in favor of keeping only the green branches because I'm after tons of blooms blooms but am not interested in devoting a ton of space to this species.

I see, I see
Yea, blossfeldina I got too but I don't like blooms for the sake of flowery things. If there's no seeds to be gained, then why the flowers? I see that they are like... beautiful and stuff but for me, flowering plants without the intent to breed them or some like that are a dead end; I need to see a possibility for progress that isn't just over after the flower is gone ;)

Here in Fairax VA, Trader Joes carries many different varieties. I found this creme double or triple that had flowres that are up to 4x the original generic size.... So fluffy

THe current blooms are probably 120% larger . . . but it aborted all the other flower buds when I forgot to water it.
