Hello fellow plant lovers! 🪴

I am in need of some guidance on how to care for my Blue Stem Yucca. I downloaded a plant watering app and believe I overwatered it about a month ago. All the leaves on the top plant started to droop and wilt. I just gave it less water (2 cups) yesterday and trimmed off the dead leaves and pulled the little dead knots off the sides of the trunk. Now my plant has a terrible odor and is oozing out of those holes. I don't know what to do!

Missed this, wow, interesting plant.

I wouldn't go by an app for watering. What did it recommend?

I'm guessing the stem has gone south, it just looks squishy, and the black oozing is disconcerting.

I'd consider removing dying leaves, let it dry out a bit, check the roots.
Even if they're okay, I don't think that stem's going to function much longer.

Consider rooting the top portion that has growth if you have a chance.

Hopefully purpleinopp will have some input.
