It is time to get my Dahlia tubers stored for winter. I have some that still look nice and fat but then I also have these that are starting to look wrinkled like they are dying up. My question is what is my best coarse of action. In the past I have stored whole clumps in peat moss and they have done fine. I plan to do the same thing this year but would like to know if I should hydrate these wrinkled tubers before putting them in peat moss for the winter. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I would divide the clumps and store using the Saran Wrap method. It would probably prevent those tubers that have shriveled from deteriorating anymore. Added benefit is that they would take up a lot less storage room!
