These photos are not of a Malvaviscus but of a Hibiscus. I'm not sure of the species or cultivar.

How was it originally decided that the cultivar name is 'Blush'? Sometimes plants have a wrong tag.

It looks like H. mutabilis.

Is this plant still alive? In the ground in Indiana? Did you take any closer pics of fully open blooms?

I can't give you a specific cultivar but I am going to agree with Tiffany and say that it is a cultivar of Hibiscus mutabilis. There are a few cultivars out there with this similar color such as Terri's Pink and Rubrus or Rubrum that I believe are interspecific hybrids with the five US native Hardy Hibiscus. They look much like a single Confederate Rose and usually have a much earlier spring and summer bloom season than H. mutabilis which bloom in the fall.

I'll move the photo to the H. mutabilis entry.

I saw Hibiscus mutabilis in it, too, but it doesn't look quite right for any cultivar/selection that I could find.
Also, I didn't think straight Hibiscus mutabilis would be hardy in Indiana.

Someone on Gardenweb claimed that, "I DID once have a Snyder hybrid of mutabilis and moscheutos."

An H. mutabilis x H. moscheutos hybrid seems like a possibility.

In another thread (and this thread), Jayce said the flowers always remain partially closed which would rule out 'Hapa Red', I think.

Hibiscus mutabilis is supposed to cross with any of the Hibiscus section Muenchhusia as long as H. mutabilis is the pod parent.

Calyx ahh ok lol Yeah, in those pictures, you can almost see it.....the calyx keeps the bloom like that

The only Turk's Cap hibiscus that I know about have red blooms and the flowers usually stay tightly closed.

Absolutely gorgeous! It seems like there's some other genes in the mix than just H. mutabilis.
