Hello all,
I wasn't sure whether I should post in the Cactus and tender succulents...as these are supposed to be hardy.
I bought these seeds from Germany and I have found only conflicting info about germination.
I just need some short instructions like
- room temp / fridge / freeze ?
- nicking the seeds ?
- soaking the seeds ?

1. Opuntia fragilis var. denudata
2. Opuntia fragilis "Fussen"
3. Opuntia polyacantha var. rufispina
4. Opuntia polyacantha "Crystal Tide"
5. Echinocereus coccineus
6. Echinocereus dasyacanthus
7. Manfreda maculosa var M. virginica

Thanks!

Me neither. And since I bought them, chose them from a long list.. it means I would like some success.
Well, common sense muct be employed.
Did a little more internet digging.

I will figure something out...

Thanks!

I think the only succulent type seeds I've ever sowed were delosperma and sempervivums. I wintersowed both, and they both grew, but no experience with those you mentioned.

Don't know anything about growing cactus from seed, but this guy sure seems to:

Might be worth reading through for some ideas.

I germinated Manfreda from my own plant indoors. I used equal parts Promix, vermiculite and sand. I sowed the seeds on top of the soil and pressed them in, and just dusted with some of the potting mixture--they need light to germinate, so you want to leave part of the seed visible. I was told that they germinate better when fresh, I hope yours do well.
