When I was a teen, we lived in the S. NM mountains. Mom had to have a massive garden (over an acre?? why? There's only the 4 of us and we never gave food away.. Father wouldn't hear of it) and the first things to get munchied was always the tomatoes, jalapenos, any chile, and the onions & garlic. Only thing not browsed was the cauliflower (smart deer).
Next time, use the 10 gauge rather than a shovel. Then you can have Bambi burgers.
And, if her hooves caught the tip of the fence, make sure that she can't get them entangled in the fence. Saw too many dead deer who died from dehydration because their hooves would get caught up in barbed wire and get tangled up.
