Hi all...I am curious if any of you have had good fortune in getting seeds out of IN CAHOOTS & LAST SONG. I like both of them so much and they have done pretty well in my zone 5A garden but I have not gotten any seeds out of LAST SONG and just a few out of IN CAHOOTS pollen. I am organizing my hybridizing plans and don't want wasting more time and hopes if I don't have to ..you input is much appreciated! ![]() ![]() Enjoying God's creation, one leaf at a time blog: www.gardensandcastles.blogspot.com |

I don't have either one so I can't answer that question. But how long have you had these? If for a short time they may just need to get established more. Some daylilies take 2-3 years of being left alone before they will start producing pods. I have some daylilies that were pod studs in 2011 but in 2012 were pod duds (may have gotten a few). This year they probably will be studs again. I also had some daylilies that set pods that another person said they NEVER could get a pod set on theirs. IN CAHOOTS only has 2 children with it being the pollen parent so it may just be reluctant at setting pods. LAST SONG has no children but it is a 2009 intro so there might not be any children ready yet. www.pensacoladaylilyclub.com |

Heartbeat of Heaven is pod fertile but I have only set 1 or 2 pods on it in 3 years. Sorry but I don't have either one you mentioned. Lighthouse Gardens |

Michele... I have had IN CAHOOTS at least 4 years and may have a few seedlings in bloom this summer. LAST SONG will have its third summer here so maybe this will be its yr...I forget that it may take that long to settle in-especially since it settled in better that almost all the ones I bought and planted the same yr and some did give seeds. So thanks to your input i will keep it on my Pollen Parent list and have a backup if necessary...thanks so much!
