I previously shared photos of my jade plants asking for pruning advice and the wonderful members' comments mentioned my plants were not getting enough sunlight. Since my house is surrounded by large oak trees, adequate sunlight is a problem. So I bought plant lights and that solved the problem, as my jade plants began to produce more leaves. However, I have now noticed that the leaves are becoming thin and curling. Could this be because the lights are too close to my plants? I'm including a few photos.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

This plant is lovely! That is the normal appearance for a plant in low light. The leaves are curled to expose all possible surface area to the light.

In strong light, the leaves point up at the tips.

Wow, I had no idea because I've had the grow lights for over a year now and all my jade plant leaves were fine for quite some time. They were thicker and flat but slowly they have started to become thin and curl. I guess I'll move the grow lights closer but they're set on the high setting and were fairly close to begin with. Their leaves are very green and glossy. I have so many jade plants that are all the offspring from my late parents' big jade plant that died from fungus gnats. The larger plants need pruning because they've been growing so fast. I give them a succulent liquid fertilizer once a month.

Thanks again for your help!

Happy to reply. ; ) I don't think there's anything wrong with your plants in regard to their health, they just have an indoor appearance. The dark green color is very appealing to me, but it is your opinion that matters.

I appreciate your reassurance that there is nothing wrong with my jade plants and the thin leaves and curling reflect lower light conditions which I can address by moving the grow lights closer. Thanks again!
