Wow, that's so near black. There's no place in a garden that you wouldn't be caught off guard seeing that one!

It really has nice form! I like very much the rounded sepals. Great color saturation! I would like to see more ruffles, but that's a personal preference. Great flower achievement!

A wonderful daylily- blackest I've ever seen. Very saturated color. Great substance. Wonderful addition to the garden! I got mine from the hybridizer this year so it's still new, but I've seen it in his garden (we're members of the same dl club) and it's fantastic!

I bought Midnight in Burgess this April. It seems to be doing fine, no flowers yet. It only has 2 fans but they look healthy. Next year, hopefully, some nice dark flowers will be seen. I have it in a small bed with White Tail and Explosion in the Paint Factory.

I acquired Midnight In Burgess a little over three years ago . It is the blackest daylily in the garden currently. It sets pods with ease. I had one rebloom scape this fall and the deer enjoyed
Rolling on the floor laughing most of it. Excellent bud count on strong scapes. JD. Stadler who has been breeding black daylilies for over thirty years said that Midnight In Burgess is one of the blackest that he has seen. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

2023 update… MIB bloomed from July 17-24 with 6 blooms. Not a lot of flower production yet but it also grew another fan by October, ending at 3. The blooms are super dark and striking.

2024 update…A really great year for MIB

It came through winter with the same three fans and bloomed from July 15 to September 6, with at least 52 flowers. By October, it had grown to 6 fans. That's fantastic performance this year, I couldn't be happier. And what a great bloom! Super black, especially when it's really hot. I noticed that it turned slightly mahogany as the weather cooled off.
