Good job, Larry!
There are many needs, and many ways of giving; some give in time and/or labor, some give in mentoring and tutoring, some give in passing on food from their gardens (or gently used items they have no need of), some give in blood (something some of us cannot do), and those of us who are able, give money.
The PSA was aimed at the last group. It benefits the non-profits (especially when there are time-limited match donations in place, as is often the case on Giving Tuesday), and it benefits the giver, in the spiritual sense ("It is more blessed to give than to receive"). There is an added benefit (for me, at least) in taking tax money away from the .gov (who would probably waste it) and giving it somewhere
I feel it is needed and would be of use.
And
sometimes, some of those non-profits can end up materially benefiting the giver; as a personal example, donations to parks, open spaces, and trail organizations can help enhance those areas (and, should I visit them, my experiences there).
