38 this morning and suppose to be a frost/freeze tonight
Spent the last two days :
-harvesting the last tender veggies
-putting plants in the greenhouse
-bringing houseplants inside
-taking a few cuttings

I miss the broom corn and sweet annie a couple things I normally have in my gardens and use in the fall

A full inch of rain last night and a cold front suppose to be in the 20's next two nights.

Oh nooo. Snow ❄️ In the 20's there that is freezing…makes me shiver just reading about it.
Winter is on a roll here too, it's always a catch 22. Winter gives the gardeners a break even though the landscape will be a blanket of snow ❄️ soon…. It's still hard to watch the garden go dormant in most cases. It's nice to have a few evergreens in winter which always helps keep up our spirits.

Cinda, love your Crocs! I wore out a pair of copycat Crocs this year and I will be looking for a pair of boots to replace them at holiday time. I think rubber boots would be much better for me because the dirt and mud and water can get through the holes and my feet end up looking like a mud pie.

I have a solid pair for the garden also because spiders like to run in the holes when I am doing serious clean-up of weeds and grasses.
I really don't like the spiders that much ...have been known to kick off the shoes and step back quickly (a tiny freak out)

Down to 16 two nights in a row this week and not above freezing for two days
all keepers from greenhouse into house
sedum and herb pots to overwinter in greenhouse
pulled the christmas decor from shed and all fragile garden ornaments to the shed
Always something to do even at gardens end

So many great inspirational photos in the photo contest
and a great way to spend a cold grey day .

I am making notes for next years garden.

Warmer than normal December in the 40-50's mostly
no snow to speak of
I spent some of Christmas eve in the garden and shed
a few houseplants blooming on Christmas eve
