Post your Asiatic lilies here! I'll start off with 'Accent', apparently an early bloomer! Hybridized by Ed McRae circa 1970.![]() |

That's a cutie! Where are we going, and why am I in this hand-basket? |

Very cute, mine are getting closer to blooming. If you would have a mind at peace, a heart that cannot harden, go find a door that opens wide upon a lovely garden. https://www.facebook.com/pages... |

Okay, I don't know my lilies, is this Asiatic?![]() |
Yes, it looks like it. It could also be a longiflorum (Easter lily)-Asiatic lily cross. Very pretty! Thanks for posting your photo ![]() |

LA Courier?![]() Opened this morning. |

Very pretty. Mine have buds but no blooms yet. Keep the pics coming so I can have some ideas of new ones I may want to buy. |

NW15. You bet. That's Courier! And as they say down in south Georgia: 'that's for a fact'. Courier is one of my all-time favorite LA's--that and Red Alert. I built my Courier stock to around 60 to 80 plants because people always ask for a 'start'. If you like it this year--you're going to love it next year! Edit note added: Cinta, Since your interested, Courier gets about 36 to 44 inches tall, has lush, dark green well populated foliage, has between 12 and 20 buds when mature and blooms fairly early for an LA type. it is very hardy and multiplies well. The flowers open as light lime green and fade to white cream about the third day in average summer weather. Heavy, thick petal substance. Blends well with other plants and colors. Here's some pics of buds and flowers and foliage so you get an idea. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Cuties. Wow Lorn, I've never had such an Asiatic, tall and tons of blooms. I must have the wrong ones :)... no wonder I don't like Asiatics. (well that, and the lack of fragrance) |

Calin, most of the LA types are known for pretty high bud count. Pretty easy to grow. |

One of the Pixie series I think.![]() Also got this L. regel blooming at about 1 foot off the ground. Purchased from Dec 1/2 price sale but didn't get them into the ground for another month or so. ![]() ![]() Nothing that's been done can ever be changed. |

We are at least 2 weeks late here. I don't think I even have buds on anything that was kept outside all winter. 'Accent' looks much nicer and defined in your climate pard. Enjoying these early pictures. One thing I have noticed is how many of my lovely, lovely orientals did not survive the drought and heat of last summer. Trying to look at the "bright side" more room for new ones, right? I keep trying to think like that with losses that are irreplaceable, like many of Buggy Crazy's orientals that have made it through many seasons here. Weather plays a HUGE role in what stays or goes. Tracey--I recall you saying last summer that it would show 'survival of the fittest'. I don't believe I lost anything but I think overall, the stem diameters are a little smaller than typical. I expect bud count will be less too. But, I'm OK with that, considering what we went thru last year. So I am fortunate. Maybe some of your oriental 'no shows' decided to sit on the sidelines for this year. That happens. Keep your fingers crossed. Yep, a good two to three weeks later here too. Hope it doesn't go to 95-100'F with the snap of the finger, that's all. Moby, send me some of that rain! |

Late spring growth is catching up mighty fast here. Some martagons in the ground are showing buds already. Although, I didn't have as many of those huge heavy late snowfalls that you did, Tracey. When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the losers. - Socrates |

Geez, I'd gladly send rain if I could as we've had 6 inches since Sunday plus hail this evening. I'm afraid things are going to rot. Between that and the rabbits ( 7 have been 'dispatched' so far, and 1 more that I'm after) I'll be lucky if I have any lilies left for show. ![]() Where are we going, and why am I in this hand-basket? |
