Debra -- that would look beautiful, for sure -- but I'd need to buy a goodly number of them to have this up and running by next year. I have a NOID purple that I've had for years, and just love -- I call it Royal Purple -- because it is. I have enough of that to incorporate right now, So I wouldn't have to buy any Irises to do this, and I'd have a special place for a special Iris that I want to keep and enjoy. And it kind of tickles me that it's a NOID -- which is exactly what Tom's red Iris is -- another NOID.

Just a thought -- I need to go over my pictures and see if I have another dark blue or dark purple that I should consider.

Rita -- your photos are awesome!! What a performance!! Hurray!

Please -- what are the names of those two gorgeous Iris -- the ruffly lavender and the dark purple? I love them both!! Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

Darn, I hate haveing to be at work, these threads get so long, I forget who all added things.
Mary Ann, the red and white really striking. Think how good it will look when it's a bigger clump. If you added some of your blue reflection, you'd have a reall patriotic theme going.

Rita, some really nice pics,

Jan, It's good to see you getting some bloom action.

I had several new ones today, tried to take some pics this morning but the wind was bad, It's gotten worse, and has made a mess of things. not sure when I'll get pics of all of them, but I have a couple to share.

I tried to draw a pic around what we are talking about. At the outer tip of the beard, regardless of color, the beard stands up off of the shoulder (the petal area that comes out of the center of the bloom just before it falls) This little doo-hickey can sometimes stand out very prominently, I refer to it as a horn, maybe there are other words for it also. OK -- don't want to get into an argument here -- but are we talking about the same database? The one here on ATP? And you entered the words Celebration Song? Every picture that I see there has an orange beard that lightens into white at the tip. No blue. No horn. No offense.

If you bought it from Snowpeak, maybe Dee can shed some light on the subject.

Tom -- *Edge of the World* is gorgeous -- and there won't be any more Sutton Irises. Sad Treasure that one.

I also loved *Cat Call* -- just outstanding!!!

Ahhh -- thanks Rita -- another one for my un-ending list...................... Hilarious!

Oh -- it sure is Paul -- it sure is! Lovey dubby

This is interesting -- I was looking at Tom's picture of *Eagle's Flight* above, and remembered that my picture of *Eagle's Flight* does not look so blue. Here is mine:

This is why it's so difficult to identify Irises from pictures. Here's the same Iris, in two different states, two different soils, two different climates, photographed by two different cameras. Just putting the pictures side-by-side, you'd never know it was the same Iris!!

The wind sure made a mess of thing yesterday. I lost one stalk, and had many blooms beat up bad in the wind. I will have to take pics when new blooms open.
Mary Ann, your pic is the real color, My camera tends to make the purples look more blue. Especiallly when the sun is shining on the bloom. I will be dividing Cat Call this summer! It sure is a fast grower. I stoll a few rhizomes from it last year to share, and still has made lots of increases.
