My LF died. well, there is teeny piece left of her, but not much.
I seen CR on Shcreiners website and wondered how it compares in color to LF?
I don't know if I should replace the LF with another or something different...

I love Lady Friend, but have had it in my garden for three or four years and it has only bloomed for me one year.

I bought Code Red last year, planted it late in the Fall -- and it bloomed for me this year. I'm not sure how the colors compare -- but color doesn't matter much if you never get to see it.

Code Red is a beautiful Iris!!

Lady Friend is a brighter flower as there is more hidden yellow hue than the darker reds. It is up to your flower preference or what it would complement in your garden. Or do you just want something different?

hmm that is odd because my Lady Friend bloomed fine for me. Here is a pic of LF so we can see them together, isn't this exciting! I hope it works... I think your Code Red looks really similar to me. I would try moving the LF to a different spot, maybe it doesn't like where it's at. Thumb of 2013-05-23/Frillylily/9dce10

we cross posted!

I liked LF just fine, it just died for me and I seen the Code Red on a website and thought it might be more vigorous than LF. I like the coloring in LF but most reds I do not like.

Then you are looking for a red with a brighter hue. LF can be difficult to get going.

I had my LF for probably 4 years I'm guessing. We had a drought kind of last summer and then this crazy spring w snow on May 4 and cold nights w lots of rain. So it died back and just has a little green coming up now. I don't know if it will make it or not, but the other years, it did ok for me. It bloomed the spring after I planted it. But I did move it last fall because I moved. So I guess it didn't like that.

Looks to me like Lady Friend has more blue to its color than Code Red. Code Red has more ruffles.

I love Lady Friend, and I haven't given up on it yet. I do plan to move it to a different location this year.
