Thanks Caroline. I don't have any in my garden, they were growing beside the HWY on a trip we took a few years ago, the bush was very large and covered in butterflies, it was beautiful. ![]() |

What part of BC do you live in Margaret?? I go to the west part at least a couple times per year (Vancouver and nearby areas) and have been to Penticton a couple of times! I had cousins who lived in Chiliwack but never visited them! ![]() |

Greg, I live in Logan Lake, a small town SW of Kamloops, in the high country, we are 3500 feet above sea level. Challenging growing conditions here, short summers with cool nights, and long cold winters. ![]() |

That's right pretty sure I asked you that before! That is challenging! Do you grow many alpines, since you're close to that already? ![]() I am really getting into these types of plants! ![]() |
mcash70 Jun 8, 2013 1:07 PM CST |
I have a few alpines, hardy perennials, hostas, lots of daylilies, anything that can survive -30 in the winter. ![]() |

oh wow! sounds soooo cold! ![]() |
mcash70 Jun 8, 2013 1:17 PM CST |
Believe me when the temp drops like that it is "COLD"!!! Usually only last a few days to a week at most. Average daytime winter temp is about 15F. ![]() |

I used to be able to handle that, but have gotten out of practice! Seattle is just cloudy/rainy and can feel very chilly, but it isn't that biting cold that I used to have in Michigan! ![]() |
