Wonderful article! I took advantage of the fabric store's tulle sales in early May. I can only imagine a prom (or wedding!) dress in Kelly Green tulle! After a year or two, the green fades to yellow, so I'd lean towards Teal Blue next time, so my salad greens appear to look a little healthier thru the sheer cover. Photo from May 15, northeastern US. I make hoop tunnels out of welded wire and fasten the tulle to them with clothespins. One small detail: once the greens grow up flush, flea beetles will do their thing thru the tulle.

Great tip about sales in May! My tulle is lighter than kelly green, so we'll see what it fades to...

Too bad the flea beetles can munch through the little openings, but at least most of the leaves are protected from them.
