I've purchased a potted ground orchid last year but it has outgrown its pot. Should I transplant into the ground or wait till spring or just transfer it into a bigger pot?

Betsy, do you know what kind of Ground Orchid you have? I have Bletillas, growing outside in the ground for almost 30 years here in NJ.

Yes, if they are Bletillas, they are probably hardy in your area, but if they are Spathoglottis, they can't take the cold, so probably pot up into sterile potting mix and plan to grow them indoors for the winter. Mine bloom nearly year round as long as I keep them warm-ish in my hoop house area for the cold nights.

It's a bletilla orchid. I will transplant now to ground.
