Not a bad start to the new year, sunny and high of 41! We sat outside last night watching televison with the heater and my new heated blanket. I'll take that for winter any day!

good start to New Year here too - partly cloudy now, high 43, showers this afternoon. Ronnie, you remind me of a next door neighbor I miss very much. Driving by on summer evenings after sunset, we would see her and her dh on lounge chairs watching tv out front, with blooming awns of grass rising slightly above themselves. I miss those two and their house and their casual, free-spirit approach to life very much. A white lilac bloomed against the front of their house, too, reaching the second floor. It was like being inside a painting from another long ago painting.

Hi Ronnie and to folks on this thread - I hope my joining in will be okay - my 'weather reports' can get windy.

I swore off this forum about 2 weeks ago because the weather is never what is predicted for this area, but to quote Michael Corleone, "just when I think I was out, they pull me back in."

The past week, our forecast has been for full sun or part sun every day, but it has been full clouds for the past week. What are these weather forecasters doing? D'Oh! Grumbling

It is so depressing!

It never made it past 40 today, it wasn't too bad in the sun mid-afternoon.
Temps are getting colder for the next few days into the weekend and calling for snow on Sunday. Still looks rather warm for January by next week Crossing Fingers! it stays!

I've heard all kinds of snao amounts for Sunday.....I'm hoping that it fizzles...do NOT need 7-10" on the ground...Jim, our weather was incorrect every day this week....However, they will probably nail it for the storm!

Not a pretty day.

I'm moving to the coast.....this inland snow is more than I can take! And it's supposed to warm up which means a total mess out there, especially with 2" of rain forecast on top of the snow....

pretty heavy stuff thumping down now - more like hippopotami and tyrannosaur-rexes - but no snao - weather doesn't seem to get stuck in a rut below the Mason-Dixon line as elsewhere Smiling

Woke up to 10" of snow and it's still piling up. It is still snowing and should stop soon with a couple of hours of rain to follow. It will not be easy to shovel when it gets wet.
