Persian Yellow is flowering. It will be in flower for the next week or so and then that is it for flowers. It suckers badly, and requires pruning to prevent it taking over the bed. |

That's interesting, Caroline. I've had roses grow extra wide, but I don't think I've ever had one sucker and spread. Would that be a good rose to use on a pond bank? Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get. H. Jackson Brown, Jr. |

It was well behaved for the first five or so years. Then it started suckering. It is over 20 years old. I would think that one of the "Carpet" roses would be better near a pond. There are now better yellow roses which have been developed. |

Cindi - You've never had a sucker? I unfortunately have lots of Dr. Hueys popping up everywhere because of the suckering... But the Persian Yellow is a VERY nice rose. Thought about getting one & planting it alongside my Austrian Copper. Roses are one of my passions! Just opened, my Etsy shop (to fund my rose hobby)! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Tweet... |
