By a really odd coincidence I happened to see that just the other day when I was looking at Illinois moths. Pretty sure it's an
eight-spotted forester moth, which is also found in TX, more common in spring.
Edit: Anne was quicker! But it's a very pretty moth, it's one of the reasons I remembered seeing it at the site.
