Wow! Looks great Mike!

I only have the one bloom on Moonlight Romantica and South Africa blooming right now. No other buds yet. And no potted roses in the ground yet this season. Good intentions and all but this season has gotten away from me.

I love a parade and that's a fabulous one.

Mike knows how to work the tiara in parades. Especially rose parades.

Porkpal, that long arching cane is supported by a single ziptie looped into an eyehook screwed into the exterior wall above the window.

Not only are your roses' blooms gorgeous, the plants all look amazingly healthy and prosperous! I am very impressed.

Your Bouquet Parfait is big like mine! Mine to growing up and into a large pineapple guava shrub. I'll have to try and get a photo because it's huge! I didn't cut anything back from it this past winter, probably should this year so it doesn't overtake the bush.

Sue, at my previous home, these same bushes reached the second story windows of our house. These are the same plants, as I transplanted them to where we live now. I let one grow quite tall, but keep the other to about 7-8 feet.

It is?! I'm so curious why, as I think the house I bought a couple of years ago came with several mysterious roses, and I think that is one of them 😀

It's maligned because it's the rootstock on which so many roses are grafted onto, and after those roses are planted, "suckers" sometimes grow off of the good doctor's submerged roots and emerge above ground. They throw off a long arching cane of Dr. Huey, alongside the grafted rose's canes and blooms, which are often of a different color. These suckers have to be torn (not cut) off the root, which is sometimes a pain in the behind. So suckers are often associated with Dr. Huey, but to Porkpal's point, it's actually a beautiful climbing rose that puts out a dense spring bloom of burgundy-colored blossoms. In my case, the bud union of a rose granted onto Dr. Huey didn't survive a winter transplant from one house to another over ten years ago, so I simply planted Dr. Huey at the top of a hill and let it cascade through a fence overlooking the driveway.
