I just finished with four of them. VERY costly. I'm 83 and not sure at all that it was worth the price.

I had my post for an implant put in last month. I didn't realize the whole process from extraction to finally putting in the new tooth would take over a year! And yes, $$$$

Sally, sorry to hear Mark got COVID. How's he doing?

Monday s goin gto be aloooong day. I have an appointment with my new dentist. Man, does he have a fun day ahead of him!.

I still haven't been able to get an appointment with the G.I. doc. They're saying that the soonest I can be seen is the 23rd. I wonder how long after that I will be able to have the actual colonoscopy. Not that I'm looking forward to it, but it would be nice to get a clean bill of health sooner rather than later.

Make the GI appointment, Rick, and ask them to call if there's a cancellation. Otherwise, their "soonest available" will just keep getting pushed further into the future. We had to wait 3 months for Mom to get an appointment with Dad's nephrologist (worth the wait, he's really good). Good luck with your dental appointment!

Alrighty then. Saw the dentist this morning and he removed the two teeth where the crown had fallen off. I need to go back in a few weeks to start the process for partial lower dentures to replace the molars that are now gone on both sides.

Group hug Rick.

Hopefully it's an easier process than this dental implant business. I'm going in this week YET AGAIN, this time to maybe place some kind of little cap over the end of the implant "post" while the bone continues to harden up around it. I think if I'd realized how lengthy and expensive a process this would be, I'd have asked for a bridge -- but a removeable one. I'm not very good about flossing as it is, so the notion of having to thread floss under a permanent bridge just left me cold.

I may change my tune once mine is in!

I want to know what they are doing in the clinics where they advertise "dental implants in a day!" Blinking

I was 'today years old' when I had the idea of finding a non-childproof lid from some other bottle in the cabinet and putting that on the pill bottle I open nightly. One more first world problem solved lol.
Plant it and they will come.

thanks. We ordered some weeks ago and got them.
Mark had Covid and we used at least 4 tests, checking me, and rechecking him. So four on hand per person is not too crazy- though most (all?) of what I have are on their 'extended expiration' last legs- as long as the test itself shows that test bar, I trust it.

Seen way too much of docs lately- for relatives- my sister and Mark's brother both needing a lot of care.........

My dad used to trim those lids with his pocketknife so Mom could open them (before "arthritis friendly" caps became available).

Thanks for the link (and the nudge).

There was a story on the news last night when I was visiting Mom about the huge incease in pneumonia cases this year -- mostly "walking pneumonia," a bacterial infection that's often secondary to a cold. If you get a cold and are still coughing (or worse, wheezing) 2 weeks later, go to the doctor. Or if you get sick, start to feel better, then feel worse again, go to the doctor. Both those scenarios indicate a secondary infection, probably bacterial, which means antibiotics will take care of it.
