Trying to find out what type of grass this is. It's not Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Karl Foerster' and it's not Miscanthus Gracillimus.
Grows about 3-4 foot, has a very very small tooth edge like Papyrus grass.
No one so far in the nurseries around me can tell me what it is.
This is growing at a home depot and they don't even know!

Why do you think it is NOT a Miscanthus sinensis - Chinese Silver Grass or Maiden Grass?

'Gracillimus' is just one named selection out of many that have been made in this species. Without any further information than that you've provided, I'd say that is exactly what it is.

From what I've seen and read, currently these plants are not 5-6 foot, they're more like 3-4 foot. Haven't seen any tassels, or change color. I'll see if I can get a close up picture.

VERY easy identification feature: pull leaves through your hands/fingers. Upon bleeding profusely from very fine "paper cut" lacerations from those toothed margins, you will have proven this species' identity beyond doubt.

I suspect it is a bit early in the season for Maiden Grass to form flower/seed tassels yet, much less turn any kind of fall color. There are copious named selections of Miscanthus sinensis, and - given its propensity to produce many windblown seeds which freely infest eastern North American landscapes - there will be no end to future naming opportunities.

I call the ones that escaped at the Valley epithets like '@#$%##$@', '*!!&$%#&@$$', or '+*&%$@#@$%&!!!'.

Feel free to borrow these; I have not trademarked them.

Apparently it's available to you, so could you take better photos? Closer, focused, of the blades and seed heads? From that distance, the profile says miscanthus to me, too. But grasses can be similar.

Home Depot may have contracted out the landscaping. Or may even be part of a larger complex with their own landscaping. May have been whatever was in style/available at the time.
Plant it and they will come.

Definitely Miscanthus. The flower/seedhead is distinctive. As Viburnum said, oh so many varieties.

Did it pass the "lacerated fingers" test and do the leaf blades have a fairly distinct line down their centre? If so, miscanthus it is but with the hundreds of named cultivars that's about all you're going to get Rolling on the floor laughing

Yep, still Miscanthus sinensis as previously mentioned. Perhaps the description scared sbates_4 from too close an approach.

Glad I was able to bring some mirth...

Okay guys here's some more pictures at this time of the year. Again, it barely has a saw tooth edge.
