I built mother a solar home some 30 years ago.. and I'm back trying to manage her care ... I have visited a few times a year.. throughout most of this time... when I was building I was planting... one of my collections from the roadways was some yucca.. now.. unmaintaned the honeysuckle has overgrown the yucca...and the yucca have overgrown the honeysuckle and there are a few volunteer trees and bushes in there.......I'd like to go in there and clean it upbut maybe when it flowers more it will look ok.. I'll just go in for the trees and bushesThumb of 2013-07-06/GordonHawk/f3e930

another ditch find was some cactus...Id grown them down near the barn for a western effect.. and on some land down the road... which was sold and this of the plantings there were saved.. the kiwi farm was a week performer there and was removed for the new owners backyard..Kiwis native to china were developed in Hayward CA and in New Zealand at the same time... much of the fruit production of these back then came from the Hayward variety..I'm not sure why they wern't named Calafruits....
