Tom, are you replacing "non-performers", or adding new beds?

Arlyn, I'm dividing a lot of large clumps, and culling some to make space for the new ones. The large clumps are pretty, but it's nice to have some new cultivars too.

#1 is "Fancy Dress", it's a Keppel iris from 1998. I've had it for years, it's an amazing grower and never fails to bloom.

#2 is "Glamazon", It's a Blyth iris from 2007. It also grows and blooms on a regular basis.

Tom, I think you should definitely upload your clump shot of Fancy Dress to our NGA database.

I like Fancy Dress, too. Nice clump shot, Tom!

Some of my boxes have arrived, another should come in next week, and I have a few irises to pick up locally. The problem is that the new area I had been preparing for these irises turned out to have a lot of heavy clay. And it has been so hot and humid for many days, that I can't get much done in the garden. I think I may remove some of the clay soil and then mix in some bags of topsoil, along with the organic matter I had planned to add. But I will have to wait til next week when temperatures should drop into the upper 80s. Sticking tongue out

They can hold for quite a while, better then getting heat stressed. What irises did you get?

All I can say is WOW. You probably have the nicest iris spread even of commercial growers. You contribute a lot to this group of iris lovers. I would love to see them all in bloom. Maybe I need a drone. Good luck with your new plantings

Tom,hope you got all your iris related activities done as you had hoped.
I also hope the weather cooperated ,and that it wasn't as muggy as it was here the last 2 days.
And finally that you didn't succumb(as I did) to last minute panic ordering or "Sheer Madness" Whistling
