K, S1-04 is nice, especially intrigued by the sepals. 23-HTYBRxEYE-04 I also find intriguing. Seems like those two should get together...
I've decided to plant more than the usual number of seedlings next spring, so some tough decisions are needed in order to make room. I'm starting by clearing some keeper bed room for new keepers...
These two older seedlings, which I will always respect and try to have a place for, must now concede their prime realestate to younger, more active, seedlings...
17-180 should do the same, but I'm on the fence. There is much that I like about the look of this one, even if it does tend to bloom a bit in the foliage. Feel like I need to make 1 or 2 crosses with it next year...
19-74 is staying. One reason is above-average foliage. Another is the throat.
I think the petals are actually more beige than yellow but the yellow streaming out rather nicely from the throat makes them look yellow. I have couple crosses in mind for it for next year..
19-212 is staying. Was superior in handling being transplanted to quite a different setting.
I don't think it is quite a finished product but thrilled to work with it and excited about some seedlings coming from it starting next year-- hopefully they retain some of the cool toothing on the petal edge...
22-680 handled transplanting admirably and is definitely staying. This dip was my first step into the dip realm, breaking my long-standing rule. I've now got multiple dip seedlings. What have I done...
Second years (second bloom year) will get a tough cull. I've decided these two will help carry the flag for my relief sculpting side-project.
22-246 looking this good is a testament to its fortitude. And its green throat has just got a little extra ooomph to it that I like...
22-672 also has some petal color issues that I feel can probably be overcome,
and the relief sculpting seems to me to be worthy of working with, and the edge has some real potential, and...
Much more work to do...
