Hah! With all the boxes arriving and planting and thinning and what-all going on, this has been on my mind a lot. Which one am I most excited to see bloom next spring?
I'll be honest, I have no idea. None. I ordered far too many this year, all of them beautiful in their own right...
This past spring, a new to me called Naked Beauty kept calling me over... I just could not stop looking at it. (terrible pic, but I promise it's beautiful). Plus, it had a long bloom time and plenty of them.

I guess I do have a couple I am anxious to see, Sharlee and Virginia Peach. They aren't new intros, but the pictures I've seen they just look so beautiful....

Naked Beauty is really nice, you will enjoy it.
I could probably list several here, but I think Hit Tune is one that's going to give me goose bumps. Hilarious!

Coloring Book is another one.

Better stop here. Rolling on the floor laughing

I only have one box incoming later this year. Out of that box, I am looking forward to BEAUTY BECOMES HER, DRAGON GLASS, and TWILIGHT OF THE GODS.

BBH looks like it might even be better than THAT'S ALL FOLKS, which I like.

https://www.prairieskyiris.com...

I have lots of purples, but I'm looking forward to a tall one with good performance.

I have high hopes for this one (which I hope won't be dashed). My big concern is over the color... I haven't had many orange irises, but I know there's a potential for yellow-orange (vs orange-orange) color or just plain muddy color. Crossing Fingers! that this looks as good as the above database image. (Yes, I know, performance and looks vary from location to location...also that images seen online can be deceiving. I once had a daylily seedling whose image looked fabulous (at least wrt color), but the bloom itself was pure mud.)

Among those that I already own but have yet to see bloom.... well too many there to review. Let's just say that I hope at least some of them bloom next year, or I'll be strongly tempted to just throw them out.

Tom that photo of Hit Tune shows it as spectacular.
And, Marilyn, I think I might like the photos of Beauty Becomes Her more than That's All Folks, too. Let us know the comparison when they bloom. I have neither to date. But sadly I am not ordering, planting, trading or, dividing this summer.

I just planted Twilight of the Gods.
I so hope it is a pure orange color like it's picture.
I am partial to that color iris, and they are so hard to find.
Like you Tom,I am looking forward to seeing Coloring Book bloom.I am not sure off hand what else.

Naked Beauty is gorgeous!

Beauty Becomes Her is a very vigorous grower! It can easily be divided every two years.

I do happen to have a very pure orange, but it's a NOID because dummy here didn't keep track of the name when she bought it... LOL. It took awhile to take off, I thought I was going to lose it completely, but it finally picked up.
Hit Tune looks a little like Parisian Dawn. Maybe darker colors. Well, looking at Wiki iris, they are both by Keppel... Big Grin

I found an old iris called Moonlit Sea:

It reminds me of Moonlit Water, and I thought I'd plant them not next to each other, but close-ish.

I have Parisian Dawn, had it for a number of years. It's color is more washed out to me.Certainly not a stand out.
I am having a hard time picturing what Hit Tune will look like.
One orange iris that is truly orange and I like alot is Orange King.I got it from Schreiner's.It is not a newer iris.

I ordered Kindred this year from Iris Sisters. Looks to be a bright orange.

I have Cheyenne My Dog, which is a nice orange too.

But I really miss my dog Cheyenne, who has been gone for 5 years now.

Tom, Kindred looks to be a much more saturated orange than most.

Condolences on the loss of Cheyenne. I know how the loss of a pet can stay with you. I still miss our orange Maine Coon cat, Marmalade. He was such a sweetie.

Yes, it looks to be really bright and pretty. It's a cross between an MTB and a TB. I wonder if it's fertil?

Cheyenne was a wonderful dog. She lived to be 15 and was in good health generally, no vision or hearing issues or arthritis, got around really well, but then got mammary cancer. When it got painful for her I had to let her go. It's always hard to do that, but if they are in pain, it's time.

Yes, it's very hard to say goodbye to our pets, but you were wise, Tom. DH was very much in denial and we should have let Warp go earlier, but he wouldn't hear of it. Sad

The loss of a pet can affect us for a long time.
Even if we get a new dog or cat,and it helps, we often still miss the ones that have gone before.
I know Tom and Marilyn that is true for Cheyenne and Warp. Group hug

In spring of 2024 I only had one new-to-me iris bloom, so that was a little boring. This year I got four new irises plus a bonus from Mid-America and four door prizes from my iris society. I am especially excited to see all of the Mid-America purchases plus one of my door prizes. I've posted pictures of my Mid-America order on the 2024 order thread, but here are pictures of the bonus I wasn't expecting and the door prize I really want to see.

Oooo... EVENING STROLL is pretty! I can see why you're excited about it!

(If and when I ever get these knees fixed so I can stand around the refreshment table chatting, I'll be back at the club meetings and in competition for the door prizes!)
