Marilyn, It would be lovely to see you again at the club meetings. We've gotten quite a few new members, so competition for the door prizes is stiffer and the annual iris auction is a lot livelier than it used to be. Smiling

Good to hear about the membership increase, Andrea!

I'd like to go, but I simply can't stand and chat. I'm not even sure *where* the club is meeting these days, but I gather it's not our former location.

Oh well, someday...

Somewhat in line with the thread topic... While they aren't new, I still have some irises which I have yet to see bloom on (I'm certain about the first, pretty sure about the other two). So I'm looking forward to WINTERBERRY, EDWARDIAN ERA, and SILVERADO.

Marilyn, I love Silverado. Winter Berry is A real beauty. With both I don't think you will be disappointed when they do finally decide to bloom. Hopefully they will soon.

I've had my eye on Edwardian Era for a while - it's a little lacier than I usually like, but I love the color.

The one and only new iris I bought this year is Firebreather (I think, pretty sure) and I'm excited to see it bloom.

Marilyn and Richard, I'm glad you both love Silverado. It's an oldie, but definitely a goodie that I love and will keep forever.

Tom - I am sure you will be happy with Kindred. It is Remare's and he was doing some great saturated oranges before he passed. His IB Dalriada is also very orange. There were orange seedlings of his growing at Keith's when I was out there. They really stood out.

Marilyn - Winterberry is a lovely color. Somewhat similar to Lady Friend in that hard to define pinkish red category. I lost mine but did really enjoy it.

Marilyn, Winterberry is gorgeous, and just went to the top of my Must Find list! Do you recall where you obtained it? Thank you!

Since it's a Spoon iris, I would check with Ginny Spoon at Winterberry Irises to see if she has any available.

It's a pretty unique color for sure.

Yes, I got it from the Winterberry gardens.

I still haven't seen it bloom, because it's down in The Pit pot ghetto, which gets some amount of shade. It seems that some irises can handle it and bloom, but not others. (Hopefully it is still alive... it was the last time I saw it. I'm waiting for DH to come back from a trip before I go down there to inventory.)

I just hope that the iris really looks like the picture. I once had a daylily seedling that looked fabulous in the image, but was muddy as heck in real life. This seedling being somewhat red, I'm just a little bit worried. (But nothing ventured, nothing gained, and the color certainly grabbed me.)

I really like Junior Partner. I've been thinking about getting more intermediate and border bearded iris as my garden gets more crowded. I should add JP to the list.
