A Heartfelt Announcement from Palatine Roses 🌹
Winds of Change at Palatine Fruit and Roses: Announcing Our Final Rose Growing Season
After years of cultivating and sharing the beauty of roses with you, we've made the difficult decision to make the 2024-2025 growing season our last. Once the final crop is harvested and sold in spring and summer 2025, we will be closing the chapter on our rose offerings.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and the cherished relationships we've cultivated together. As we approach our final season, please know that nothing will change regarding our December orders, and the exceptional quality of our roses will continue through 2025. We're dedicated to making this last season truly unforgettable for you. Mark your calendars—the final rose availability will be announced on 10/21/24 to view and plan for December orders. Important reminders: we do not ship potted roses, we do not maintain a waiting list, and orders will only be accepted starting in December.
While we bid farewell to our rose growing, the fruit portion of our business and our cut rose section will continue to thrive. We look forward to serving you with the same dedication and passion.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Let's make this final rose season one to remember!
From all of us at Palatine

All my best roses are from Palatine...Its' so pity that they decided to closed their bush roses business.
I bet the last season was difficult for them.

So sad. It was the best nursery in my 50 years of rose gardening. Many other good nurseries came and went. Many nurseries that still exist miss the mark, either occasionally or constantly. Palatine was unfailingly good.

Oh, no! Another good one gone. I never ordered from them because package delivery here is rather chancy, but I have always heard they are the best.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I've only ordered from them once, but the quality was unbelievable.

I started ordering from Palatine in 2006 for the 2007 season. Since then, there were only three years in which I didn't place an order. I've never been disappointed by any of the roses they've sent.

The "Why?" is explained on their FAQ:

Why are you stopping rose production in 2025? As a small family-owned and operated business, we have decided to focus on the primary aspect of our business: fruit production. While wild theories may arise, the truth is simple—we are all getting older and have decided to end this wonderful journey on a positive note.

Last year, they expanded their rose fields by removing fruit trees. Just saying. Rolling my eyes.

I remember that back in 2020 they transformed one of their peach orchards into a rose growing field for the 2023 season, but still had plenty of land for growing peaches.

I am also sorry to such an excellent reliable nursery go. I wish them the best with their future plants. Some of my favorite varieties from them

Ben, thanks to your recommendation, I bought Sweet Delight this season—it's an amazing rose! I was unsure about Pride, but now I really want it. I also heard they were planning to release Charles de Gaulle this season. Ashley, Augusta Louisa, and Amour de Molène are my favorites.

Elena, I did have Charles de Gaulle from them many years ago, it was a good variety. I love the Tantaus you have from them, but I don't think they'll be offering any this season. For some reason they stopped Tantaus and Austins. They were my source for Michel Adam/NIRP roses which many are terrific.

Palatine has published their final list.
I am waiting what April and Ashley https://www.aprilandashley.com...
would offer before deciding if I need anything from them.
But consider Amorosa, Bliss Parfuma( got Crazy Love instead of her other year), Desire Parfuma , Sunrise Parfuma and may be Rosanna, Julia, Charles De Gaulle and Our Anniversary…
Somebody needs to stop me… I do not have space at all. Whistling

Six years ago we had a lot of land, but I did not grow roses…

Good luck! What do you have in your list?
Last 2 years I have used service checking changes on their website every 5 min and notified me about changes ie when sale is live. Both times got everything I wanted.
But people who just refreshed the page still won. nodding
