As everyone is aware, there has been a proliferation of Gold semps in the last few years! Let's compare them all and find out the best time for them. I'll admit that I find fall cold better than spring in most of mine. I'll go 1st.

Leading off is everyone's Gateway gold semp, Gold Nugget. It's reliable but overall finicky for me. It never seems to bloom and it's more prone to rot than some of the other ones.

Gold Rush is way more hardy for me than GN. This semp is also very prolific offset producer which requires regular thinning in my space.

Gold crown is an interesting one. I've never really had it look like the stock photos. For me, the gold is more of a green color. I can't say these ever are really gold for me.

Gold mine gets decent sized but I find the gold is only really there in spring. In the fall it's a tinge at best. I also find it grows long almost boxy leaves a lot which I'm not sure I like.

I'll definitely add more because I need to get some more pictures since there are so many!

Nathaniel, I am so sorry I missed this.

I only have two of the gold semps, not much color this time of year.
'Gold Mine' has been with me for over a year now. So far it has stayed healthy through all weather conditions. I feel that next year will tell me more. I know it is suppose to be one of the giants, but only about 4 or 5 inches across at this time.

The other one is 'Gold Rush'. Has you know, I've only had this one for a few months. But so far it is doing well in a 4" pot. It will be going into one of the beds this week to get ready for winter.

Here is an update on my Golds along with some new ones. I find all of them have more subdued colors in fall which I like.

The first Gold Nugget, Gold Rush and Gold Mine get more sun that the second ones. Seems to make a huge difference.

@Melissahopper

Yours are looking great! That reminds me I also have Gold somewhere. The key is finding which pot it is in.

As soon as it is light enough for photos I will go out a get photos of mine.
Nathaniel and Melissa, yours are looking good.

Gold died from rot, so I don't have that one anymore.

I remembered to look for my Gold today. It needed up staying in the greenhouse all summer (along with a couple other trays). I meant to move it outside this year, but the whole summer got away. I don't think it looks bad for being in a greenhouse though.
