The purple hat ladies are back, love it Dave!
The damage in your area sounds terrible Nan
So glad the horses and humans were ok. Knowing your horse is fine and in good hands is one less thing for you to worry about.
Sorry to hear about your neighbors car Jill. I hope they can get that worked out with insurance and all quickly.
I'm so happy to hear your ok Donna. I remembered Boone from my places to retire web search of your area over the summer. I knew when I heard that NC mountain areas could see 10 - 20" that the flooding and damage would be devastating. When Irene hit Vt in 2011 we only had 7 +/-" and it nearly wiped Vt off the map. I agree, it's hard to imagine just how much damage running water can do until you see it. I'm so glad you and your family are safe and didn't have any major damages.
Nice images Orion! I was out and about today too and saw some pretty foliage in the higher elevation. Maybe the same you saw as I drove through NH up into Maine to speak at the Southern Maine Daylily Society meeting. Had a great time meeting the members and talking daylilies! There was fog this morning from home to midway on I89 to Concord then it was sunshine mixed with a few clouds the rest of the way. The car said the temp was 71 when I left Maine this afternoon and temps here at home were 48 & 72. Hoping for another nice day tomorrow.
