Thread OP
Corona, CA (zone 9b or 10a)
A friend and neighbor recently moved. She had a Gardenia plant in her old yard that we would like to identify so that we can plant the same variety in her new yard. Apparently, there are over 200 varieties of Gardenia, so we would appreciate some help identifying her specific Gardenia.
In addition to the posted photo of the flower, here is some additional information:
The Gardenia was planted between 35 and 40 years ago, so it is not a new variety. The plant is about 4 feet high and has never been cut or trimmed. The flower is about 2" to 2 ½" in diameter and blooms in June and July.

Thanks in advance for your help.
